WHEN TO MOVE BABY TO HIS OR HER ROOM

Without a doubt, a question many parents ask themselves is: When is the best time for their baby to sleep in their own room ? But each situation requires different factors to consider, and it's also a personal decision for the parents. A baby's independence is vital for their development, but it will depend on the needs of both parents and the baby.

One situation we can review is if the baby still asks for milk at night. This would require moving around to feed the baby, and this is definitely easier when the baby is in the same room. Often, living at the grandparents' house and only having one room would change everything, and the baby's independence would be achieved by managing other changes in their routine.

You also have to take into account whether the baby already has a brother or sister who will be sharing the room, so that their sleep is not interrupted when the baby cries the first few nights. Then you would have to wait until the baby really sleeps continuously without waking up until morning.

Taking your baby to their room a few days before the transition, spending time playing in their crib , will help them become familiar with it and get all their senses used to it. Another great help would be to place nightlights to keep the room dimly lit.

When there is an opportunity to make the transition and both parents agree, it is best to start between 6 and 7 months. This is because at this age, babies are not yet very aware of their surroundings and will not experience anxiety about not seeing their parents; they will adapt more easily.

A baby monitoring device will be a great help. Perhaps the first few times, the nervousness of waking up and not being heard, or having been forced to just turn around and look at the baby, will cause some sleep problems, but soon they will get used to it, just like the baby, and will have overcome this stage.

It's important not to go backwards, as sometimes if your baby gets sick, you'll want to keep a close eye on them at all times. However, it's better to have a sofa bed, a bed, or some comfortable piece of furniture in your baby's room to stay with them while their health improves than to go back to the beginning and forget what you've learned.

Being aware that there will be some discomfort and difficult situations, being convinced that it's the best thing for your baby, and being willing to endure any inconvenience will be of great importance to making this transfer a success for everyone.

Advice and recommendations are always valid, but certainly no one is better than parents when it comes to making decisions about their children, as they know them better than anyone and will always seek the best for their baby.
